About Vietnam Authentique

Vietnam Authentique is an independent travel resource dedicated to helping you discover Vietnam region by region: the north (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Sapa, Ha Giang and the northern mountains), the centre (Hue, Phong Nha, Da Nang, Hoi An, the south-central coast and the Central Highlands) and the south (Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, Mui Ne and the southern islands). Each destination has its own guides, from city neighbourhoods, street food and museums to boat trips, mountain roads, beaches and day excursions.

What we do

We create in-depth, regularly updated travel guides covering Vietnam's three regions and 25 destinations, the tours and activities worth booking in each of them, and the practicalities of getting there and moving around — airports, trains, buses, ferries and local transport — for both first-time and repeat visitors. Every article is researched thoroughly and written to give you genuine, useful advice — not generic filler content.

How we earn

Vietnam Authentique is funded through affiliate partnerships, primarily with GetYourGuide and Viator, as well as partners for accommodation, transport and travel insurance. When you book a tour, activity or service through one of our links, we earn a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. This income allows us to keep the site running, create new content, and maintain existing guides.

Our affiliate partnerships never influence our recommendations. We suggest activities and tours that we genuinely believe provide good value, regardless of commission rates.

Editorial independence

We are not sponsored by any tourism board, hotel chain, or tour operator. Our recommendations are entirely independent. If something is overpriced, overhyped, or not worth the trip, we will say so.
