Things to do in Con Dao

Con Dao is a small archipelago off the southern coast, reached only by air or fast ferry. There is no road, so it is never a day trip from Ho Chi Minh City: the flight takes roughly one hour, a return fare typically runs about 80–200 EUR depending on season and airline, and the ferry crossing takes several hours at sea. It is not Phu Quoc.

The two islands have different airports, a different scale and a different kind of stay: Con Dao is smaller, quieter and has far less infrastructure, so expect fewer restaurants, limited nightlife and flights that can sell out. Visitors come for the sea, the calm and the nature.

The climate follows the southern pattern, with a dry season from roughly December to April, wetter months from May to November, and no winter. Allow at least three days to make the journey worthwhile.
