Things to do in Mui Ne
Mui Ne is a dry, windy beach strip on the south-central coast, roughly 200 km north-east of Ho Chi Minh City and right next to the town of Phan Thiet. It is not part of the Mekong Delta: there are no canals or floating markets here, only sand dunes, fishing boats and a long row of resorts along one road.
Allow about four to five hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City, longer in weekend traffic. One or two days cover the essentials: the red and white dunes at sunrise, the fishing harbour and the beach. A basic guesthouse room costs roughly 15–30 EUR a night in 2026.
The south has two seasons and no winter, with the dry months running from about December to April.
