Things to do in Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island, lying in the Gulf of Thailand just off the Cambodian coast. It is not in the South China Sea, and it is not part of the Mekong Delta. It has its own international airport (PQC), so treat it as a destination in its own right, reached by air or by boat, never as an improvised excursion from Ho Chi Minh City.
A flight from Ho Chi Minh City takes roughly one hour and domestic fares often run around 40–120 EUR return. The best season is roughly November to April; in the wet season the west coast is rough and some boat trips are cancelled. Phu Quoc also runs its own visa exemption scheme for direct arrivals, so check the official immigration portal before you book.
Expect 2 to 5 nights to be enough for most visitors.
